About Me
Matteo was born in 1990 in Trento, Italy.
From an early age, he grows up in a family environment rich in musical stimuli, on the one hand his mother with a great passion for singing, on the other hand, his father, Adriano Dallape', is instead a professional organist/harpsichordist, and works as a teacher at the "Campiani" Conservatory in Mantua, Italy.
At the age of seven, he was enrolled at the "Camillo Moser" Music School in Pergine Valsugana, where he studied drums and percussion with professor Roberto Pangrazzi.
His drumming learning evolved steadily: he graduated from the CDM of Rovereto within the Bachelor's degree of Professional Specialization, at the same time he attended the Jazz Three-Year Course at the Bonporti Conservatory of Trento where he followed various workshops and seminars with world-class musicians. Thanks to these two circuits he had the opportunity to work closely with drummers such as Stefano Pisetta, Skip Hadden, Giorgio Zanier, Carlo Alberto Canevali, Vittorio Marinoni, Giampaolo Ascolese and Phil Mer.
He later decided to specialize with Maestro Alfredo Golino at the CambioMusica Academy in Brescia, a course that would lasted a total of three years and thanks to which he would gain further awareness of his own means.
In 2024, he graduated in Pop Drums at the Three-year BA Program in Popular Music in Trento with a grade of 110, also at the Bonporti Conservatory.
Since 2013 he has been undertaking the concert activity, which over the years he has managed to expand to the whole region of Trentino-Alto Adige with various musical formations and collaborations, which allowed him to participate in numerous festivals of Contemporary, Pop, Jazz music, traveling around Italy and Europe.
In the 2022/2023 season, a fantastic artistic partnership begins with the Landestheater Innsbruck; under the art direction of the director and choreographer Enrique Gasa Valga, they will work on a production of The Great Gatsby. A show that will later be taken to the prestigious Deutsches Theater in Munich.
In 2024, the collaboration with the Landestheater of Innsbruck continues, thanks to the theatrical performance with live music ‘Amore Tricolore’, a tribute to Italy and its Dolce Vita, with a musical repertoire that ranges from the legendary soundtracks of Ennio Morricone to the Italian popular songs' hits that have been the soundtrack in the lives of Italians (and not only) during the last century and the present.
In 2025, he consolidated his artistic collaborations with Tiroler Landes Theater and Deutches Theater through the prestigious ‘Limonada Enrique Casa Valga Dance Company’, playing for the new productions of Dorian Gray and Romy Schneider.
In 2021 he met guitarist Giacomo Turra, with whom he formed Funky Minutes, a band that would lead the young musician on a path that would soon see them become increasingly prominent, from viral videos on multimedia platforms, to subsequent concert tours around the world.
In fact, over the next two years the band has been taking part in prestigious international festivals such as the Soul Live Festival in the Netherlands, in Indonesia at the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta and for the Kura Kura Jazz Festival in Bali, the Rome Jazz Festival, the Sentosa Music Festival in Singapore, in Israel at the prestigious The Zone in Tel-Aviv, in Bogotá in the renowned Colsubsidio Theatre.
At the end of 2023, thanks to the ‘North America/Canada Tour’, they will cross North America from New York to Los Angeles, from Chicago to Dallas, touching down in 19 states and encroaching on Canada for stops in Vancouver and Montreal, for a total of 33 concerts in just under two months.
Between February/March and October/December 2024, they will instead be hitting the prestigious European stages with the ‘UK & EUROPE Tour 2024’ and the ‘Giacomo Tour’, selling out all major European capitals from London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin, Stockholm, Helsinki, Madrid, Vienna, Oslo, Tallinn, Warsaw.
They will land again in America and Canada throughout July for the ‘Giacomo Turra & The Funky Minutes - North American Tour 2024’, which will see them play an even bigger role with 20 sold-out concerts in all major American and Canadian cities. They will also participate in prestigious international festivals such as the Ottawa Blues Festival, the Summer Fest in Milwaukee and the Rose on the River in Chicago, where they will have the honour of sharing the stage with legends of world funk music such as the historic American band The Meters and Vulfpeck.
